Within the Patrol Division, there is provision for Animal Safety and Control. This is a shared mutually supportive appointment embraced by Pinehurst PD and Osburn PD. The animals may be taken into shelter in an emergency. Each patrol shift typically is commanded by a Lieutenant. This division operates 24 hours per day, seven days a week.
The Animal Safety and Control Deputy investigates bites from domestic animals and enforces animal laws in Shoshone County, including Dogs at Large and noise complaints from barking dogs.
Shoshone County encourages everyone to spay and neuter their pets, including rabies vaccinations.
